About this Opportunity

Working within our dynamic and highly skilled multidisciplinary Primary Health Care Team as a Dietitian, you will be inspired to provide comprehensive and complex dietetics advice to people living in remote and isolated areas of the far North and West of South Australia.

With a focus on health promotion and community development, you will coordinate a holistic care approach to achieve better diet outcomes for our diverse range of patients whilst applying the science of human nutrition to food and health. Based in Port Augusta, this role will specifically require you to:

• Facilitate patient participation in lifestyle modification programs that supports the development of sustainable healthy eating
• Adapt service delivery and resources to suit rural and remote communities using an evidenced based, community centred program structure that is culturally appropriate and consultative to RFDS SA/NT patients
• Assist patients to access supports that are important to them achieving their goals using a patient centred approach.

This position will enable you to build on your scope of practice in regional and remote Australia and experience all that the RFDS SA/NT has to offer!

About You

You are:

• Tertiary qualified and experienced in the delivery of dietetics in regional and remote areas, with an understanding of the barriers remote Australian’s face when seeking to lead a healthy lifestyle
• A passionate advocate for Primary Health Care, including patient education and health promotion in regional areas
• Computer savvy (experience across Best Practice and PenCS CAT4 would be ideal) and in possession of high-level clinical documentation skills
• An astute problem solver who can work both autonomously and part of a team
• A strong communicator who can adapt easily to the needs of a variety of stakeholders
• Seeking to work in a dynamic role with an organisation that makes a difference to the lives of rural and remote Australians!
