About This Opportunity

The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section’s Line Pilots are at the forefront of our aeromedical operations. Our Line Pilots work as a part of a multi-disciplined team facilitating access to vital health care services, enabling people to live and work in regional, rural and remote Australia. No two days are the same for a Line Pilot, with a typical day consisting of challenges, highlights and inspirations across a variety of operational duties.

As we expand our service, we have opportunities to join our team at our various bases including;

  • Launceston;
  • Dubbo; and
  • Broken Hill.

About You

The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section are looking for confident and capable team players to fly our aircrafts across our section, supporting happier and healthier Australians no matter where they live, work or play. You will be able to work in small teams, be agile in your approach, dedicated to the job and focused on the task at hand.

To fly with us as a Line Pilot you will have the essential requirements of;

  • Australian CPL with ATPL subjects
  • Multi engine command instrument rating
  • Class 1 Medical
  • Total time - 2500 Hours
  • Total time in command - 2000 Hours
  • Total time in command - multi engine – 500 hours
  • Night experience - 100 Hours
  • Instrument time - 100 Hours
  • Australian citizenship, residency or an approved work visa

In addition, it is desirable for our Line Pilots to possess;

  • Single Pilot experience
  • Remote area flying experience
  • Preferred 4 instrument proficiency checks
  • Turbine experience is preferred but not required
  • Past experience in working shifts over a 24-hour period

As a part of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations the role requires pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. Candidates are required to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), a current Driver’s Licence and must undergo working with children and police checks.
