Description

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) is seeking a collaborative, self-motivated, and experienced developer to join our Data, Integrations & Analytics Team as the Full Stack Developer. This role is a critical support for our teams to connect and deliver better health access and outcomes for regional, rural and remote communities.

The Full Stack Developer is responsible for continuously improving the data integration between existing commercial systems and the support and development of specialised end-user operations applications across all RFDS operational and support teams.

The Full Stack Developer is a Full-time, maximum term (12 months) position based in Brisbane. The Digital & Technology team offers hybrid working arrangements with a mixture of home and office work. The role is internally known as the Data & Systems Developer.

Key accountabilities include

  • Collaborate closely with architects, technical leads, testers, product owners, and analysts in a Hybrid (Agile and Waterfall) environment to contribute to the solution development process
  • Using a variety of integration techniques, develop real-time and polling interfaces between systems and the RFDS Data Lake
  • Support DevOps practices, including CI/CD processes and tools, to ensure smooth software delivery
  • Assess and diagnose incidents according to agreed procedures
    • Investigate causes of incidents and seeks resolution
    • Escalate unresolved incidents
    • Facilitate recovery, following resolution of incidents
    • Document and close resolved incidents according to agreed procedures
  • Initiate and monitor actions to investigate and resolve problems in systems, processes and services. Determines problem fixes/remedies. Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer who is a team player, communicates openly and confidently with all stakeholders, and works collaboratively with the wider RFDS team. An open-minded problem solver who is excited to contribute each day and willing to pitch in, knowing that their efforts play a vital role in helping save lives.
You will demonstrate:
  • Formal qualification in Information Technology or similar field, or equivalent experience
  • High-level communications skills, with demonstrated capability to effectively interact with leaders across the organisation and external stakeholders
  • Experience developing solutions in:
    • .Net / C# integrations within Microsoft Azure,
    • React, .Net, modern TypeScript (ES2015+), frontend build tools (Webpack, Babel or Yarn) and linting
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, integration, and mocking
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies and skills as required
  • Knowledge / experience within Health or Aviation industry advantageous, but not essential
