Description

The Rostering & Scheduling Officer is responsible for developing fit for purpose rostering models to improve rostering processes and practices across the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) (Queensland Section).
The Rostering and Scheduling Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to the Head of Flying Operations, Manager of Flight Standards, Operations Control Centre (OCC) and Pilot Leadership Team. The position plays a crucial role in coordinating training events and operational rosters for all RFDS (Queensland Section) Pilots. Working closely with the OCC team, this role contributes to operational outputs and assists the OCC Manager in maintaining efficient service delivery.
  
The Rostering & Scheduling Officer is a Permanent, Full-Time role based in Brisbane.
  
Duties include:
Your key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Develop an operational framework of compliant, commercially efficient rostering across RFDS bases
  • Provide advice to the OCC and applicable managers to help minimise the impact of training events on operational rosters.
  • Schedule training events under direction from the Manager of Flight Standards and Flight Standards Pilots.
  • Provide process improvements and recommendations to the Executive General Managers (EGM’s) including more effective management of costs and labour
  • Ensure rostering activities are conducted IAW company policy, Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS), and the Enterprise Agreement (EA)
  • Forecast future shortfalls and identify gaps in pilot rosters for escalation to the OCC and applicable managers
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of a centralised rostering function
  • Ability to interpret Enterprise Agreement and Award conditions and apply to rostering practices
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop remote working teams
  • Rostering experience in the Aviation Industry
  • Understanding of Aviation regulatory and compliance requirements as related to workforce management
  • Experience with automated rostering systems and software
  • Extensive experience with wider change management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in rostering and associated activities complying with policies, processes, and industrial instruments
