About this Opportunity
The Royal Flying Doctors Service SA/NT is currently looking for a candidate based in Alice Springs with a strong interest in aviation to join our team. Reporting directly to the Senior Base Engineer and alongside a large workforce of LAME’s, as the Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will learn how to carry out the servicing and maintenance work on our aircraft fleet while studying toward a Certificate IV in Aeroskills.
Under the supervision and direction of the LAME, you will learn to:
Interpret and use aviation maintenance and RFDS maintenance manuals.
Perform basic hand skills.
Remove and install aircraft parts.
Work towards testing and troubleshooting aircraft avionics systems and components.
Learn to inspect, repair and maintain aircraft.
Ensure aircraft are clean and free from hazards.
To be considered for the role you require:
Willingness to undertake formal training and attend the nominated Registered Training Organisation (RTO) as required.
Eligibility to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
