Mobile Patient Care (MPC) offers Non-Emergency Patient Transport primarily in Victoria and New South Wales. We work with a large fleet of ambulances and support our transport services with RFDS aircraft.
MPC provides clinical care for people travelling from home to hospital, hospital to hospital and hospital to home, as well as transport to and from specialist clinics. The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our MPC team as Head of Enablement and Compliance.
About the Role:
The primary purpose of this role is to develop and maintain and implement training programs for staff that promotes high quality patient care, a safe and high functioning operating environment for staff, compliance with industry protocols. The role is a higher duty for a staff member with a substantive role of ATA/Paramedic when not performing training or other project duties.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Content development and delivery of the Annual Competency training program and the assessment of staff that is compliant with National Standards
• Content development and delivery of the new staff induction program, including final assessment of staff as being ready for active deployment
• Lead the development and update of a training schedule with a program up to 12 months in advance where possible
• Work with MPC Management, Clinicians, Clinical Instructors, Clinical and Quality Manager to identify staff training needs or areas of risk
• Develop and deliver tailored training programs for staff needing to address specific skills and training gaps
• Develop training programs for new equipment and/or new work methods
• Oversee the development of content for the ELMO online training platform and maintenance of up-to-date system content
• Participate in clinical reviews to identify training gaps & improvements
• Ensure the accurate recording and reporting of staff attendance and assessment of any training provided
• Prepare documents, presentations and reports as required for leadership meetings
• Identify opportunities to improve business and clinical processes and ensure all processes are patient centric, efficient and effective
• Promote a customer and patient centric culture that aligns to the values of the RFDS
• Promote a safe, compliant and respectful work environment for staff and respond in a timely fashion to issues as they arise
• Strive for staff compliance with all clinical and legislative protocols and policies
• Lead projects to improve the functioning of the business and to increase safety, quality and effectiveness of MPC
• Mentor and providing training to staff when on road working in the capacity of an ATA
• Assist with interview, assessment and orientation of new staff as required
•Log and maintain accurate education records
• Audit staff, policies and procedure compliance with National Standard
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and conflicting priorities
- Open, approachable and effective communication style
- Highly experienced in the patient care industry
- Able to engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Capacity to lead a learning environment via formal and informal training
- Experience in patient transport
- Meet the requirements and qualifications of an ATA
- Clinical Instructor qualification to support a clinical and non-clinical learning environment (preferred)
- Cert IV in Workplace Assessment and training (preferred)
