We have an opportunity for a Data Analyst to join our team during a period of growth. In this role you will assist the delivery of performance measurement, evaluation and statistical tasks to meet corporate and operational reporting requirements. This position will also undertake and assist with complex analytical and data-centric projects to ensure RFDS is delivering data driven insights.

 

About the role 


- Engage with various areas of the business to understand reporting and analytical requirements and identify data needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on process and data reviews.
- Determine appropriate data sources, highlight data gaps, check quality of data sets.
- Assist in maintaining the integrity, availability, and quality of operational data.
- Educate staff as required on the data architecture and purpose of various systems used for delivering data insights.
- Aid in preparing and maintaining systems documentation, data models and data dictionaries.
- Monitor performance, report usage and data usage with a focus on continual improvement.
- Perform statistical analyses and investigations as required.
- Assist with querying and wrangling data for analysis.
- Aid in statistical modelling and analysis.
- Participate with design, build and delivery of reporting and informational dashboards.
- Communicate and report on data insights to business stakeholders and funding bodies.
 

About you


- Knowledge in applying data analytics practices and techniques. 
- Experience undertaking complex research, gathering information and undertaking detailed analysis from various systems and stakeholders to support decision making.
- Experience interpreting data and proposing appropriate options and solutions or escalating for resolution as required.
- Demonstrated organisation and prioritisation skills 
- Experience with data analysis software (eg Microsoft applications such as Excel, Access, PowerBI, Word and SQL)
- Possession of or working towards a relevant Computer/Data Science or Business Analytics tertiary qualification (desirable)

About Us


The mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia. Every member of the RFDS WO team contributes to that mission and living our values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe. Every year, the RFDS WO provides urgent retrieval for about 10,000 patients in regional WA. A further 10,000 appointments are provided in primary healthcare clinics in remote communities, including GP, nurse, dental and mental health care. RFDS crews are committed to providing the finest care to the furthest corners of the State, using the highest standards of clinical care, aviation safety and technology to make a difference to people living and working across WA – the largest and most remote health jurisdiction in the world.

 

The RFDS in WA operates five bases in Perth, Broome, Port Hedland, Kalgoorlie and Meekatharra. Our 24/7 operations centre at Jandakot Airport coordinates complex logistics for patient retrievals and clinics across the State. We work in partnership with government, business and the community, and are proud to work on Country with Aboriginal medical services and many local service providers.

 

In 2024, the RFDS is launching a new five-year strategy ‘Above and Beyond’, which will mark an important new chapter in the long Flying Doctor history. The strategy will include a focus on expanding remote health clinics in some of WA’s most vulnerable communities, expanding our profit-for-purpose services, strengthening our workforce, harnessing technology and addressing our environmental sustainability.
