About this Opportunity


Reporting directly to the Flight Nurse Manager, as the Deputy Flight Nurse Manager in Alice Springs, you will provide clinical leadership and high-quality best practice care in an aeromedical environment.

You will be responsible for oversight, management and coordination of the Flight Nursing (FN) Team in day-to-day operations.

Specifically, you will:

- Professionally and clinically role model the highest quality of clinical standards and evidence-based nursing and/or midwifery care
- Provide vital leadership and coordination of patient care delivery in the aeromedical environment and achieve quality patient outcomes, including participating in the senior on call roster coverage
- Support the Flight Nurse Manager in the leadership of the nursing team including roster development, professional development reviews and performance management processes
- Oversee and facilitate the provision of nursing and/or midwifery care within the Flight Nursing Team to ensure safe and appropriate care is provided
- Act promptly to resolve immediate issues related to competing service delivery requirements, challenging behaviours and patient care demands

About You

You are:

- A self-motivated individual with outstanding communication, problem solving and time management skills
- An individual who leads by example and can effectively manage completing priorities, whilst working independently
- A strong relationship builder who can work within a multi-disciplinary team and has a thorough understanding of cross-cultural diversity
- A Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse and Midwife with at least 5 years post registration experience.
- A competent Flight Nurse with the ability to review and enhance models of patient care

To be considered for the role you require:

- AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Post-registration qualifications in Critical Care (ED or ICU).

Your application would be enhanced by:

- AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife
- Post Graduate qualifications in Aeromedical Retrieval.
