About the Role
The Digital Health & Data Management Specialist plays a key role in improving the operational efficiency of the Primary Health Care (PHC) department by implementing and managing digital health systems. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for client management systems, data collection, and reporting, while driving the execution of digital health solutions to support primary health care delivery, especially in rural and remote areas. You'll also empower PHC staff through technical support and training, fostering a forward-thinking culture of digital excellence and continuous growth.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Act as the first point of contact for PHC digital health change requests.
- Data management of RFDS Victoria Electronic Health Record (EHR), digital systems and PHC data management including collection, collation and analysis to inform operational capability and reporting requirements.
- Partner with senior leadership to analyse data, identify trends, and solve problems enabling PHC to assess situations, make informed decisions, and implement effective solutions.
- Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to understand their needs and integrate MMeX, Best Practice, Teams and other software into their workflows efficiently.
- Provide guidance and technical support to PHC staff to enhance their proficiency with digital health systems.
- Develop and deliver training programs, including eLearning materials and Standard Operating Procedures, to ensure healthcare teams can effectively utilise digital health solutions.
To be successful, you will need:
- A Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Healthcare Administration, or substantial experience in data management, digital systems, or related fields.
- Working knowledge of current and emerging digital health technologies or substantial industry experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the primary healthcare sector and relevant digital regulations.
- Demonstrated strength in project development, analysis, and success in similar roles.
- Expertise in data analytics, outcome performance measurement, program evaluation, and experience with community-based recovery services.
- A proven ability to craft and execute effective data management strategies, underpinned by exceptional organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to present complex technical concepts in simple terms to non-technical team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to problem solve, think critically and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and multiple platforms, including experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) management systems such as Best Practice, and data analysis tools.
- Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a current Drivers Licence, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia.
