Expression of interest - Join the RFDS Paramedic Talent Pool

Our highly regarded Paramedic team provide healthcare services to remote sites across Western Australia. We are seeking expressions of interest from highly experienced Paramedics to join our team for FIFO contracts in existing and future operations in the resources industry.

We invite expressions of interest for a variety of casual roles, including shutdowns and short-term contracts. There is also potential for short and long-term full-time opportunities in the future.

Responsibilities
- Provide initial emergency response, stabilisation, and transportation/ medevac of critically ill or injured patients
- Deliver Primary Health Care and Treatment of non-emergency medical conditions
- Participate in HSE activities, tasks and training
- Participate in Emergency Response Team education, training, and procedure development
- Design, implementation and delivery of onsite training and health awareness programs
- Coordinate and administer on-site drug and alcohol testing
- General clinic administration management and reporting duties

Essential requirements
- Current AHPRA Registration (Unrestricted)
- Minimum 3 years Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Trauma Unit / remote medical care setting or 5 years experience in critical emergency care (offshore and extreme remote locations)
- Current Advanced Life Support Course (ALS) or equivalent
- HLTPAT005-Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Proficient computer skills for operational duties
- Well-developed knowledge of, and experience in the application of Emergency Response Services within the mining sector or equivalent environment
- Experience in hydration testing

Desirable
- Located in Western Australia
- Current TBOSIET (offshore only)
- Valid MSIC (offshore only)
- Experience in return-to-work programs and mental health support
- Competent to provide immunisations and vaccinations
- Experience in fit testing
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST)
