The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) has a unique opportunity to make impactful change as we seek to appoint a Principal Advisor Aviation Safety.
As our Principal Advisor Aviation Safety, you will play a vital role in our organisation to ensure we identify and manage aviation safety risks by leading risk and assurance activities, developing training and safety promotional initiatives, as well as fostering and enabling a continuous improvement culture by supporting the Aviation teams.
Reporting directly to the Head of Risk and Assurance, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and conduct risk and safety assurance activities including:
- Triage of occurrence reports and event reviews
- Performing aviation investigations and audits to identify opportunities for improvement and to strengthen risk controls
- Administration of the Aviation Supplier Approval Program
- Identification of potential risks to operations and work collaboratively with stakeholders to minimise these risks
- Develop and deliver training and safety promotion initiatives
- Assist in our ongoing development of the Flight Data Analysis Program
- Support emergency response and business continuity activities
About You
As our Principal Advisor Aviation Safety you will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills having the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, be reliable and responsive with a can-do attitude, present with energy and strong motivation, demonstrate initiative and strong decision-making capabilities with an ability to work unsupervised, and work to always uphold our values through acting ethically and professionally.
You will additionally present with the pre-requisites of:
- Technical and/or further education qualifications in either Aviation, Quality Management, Safety Management, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Demonstrated experience conducting safety investigations, including an understanding of human factors and non-technical skills.
- Demonstrated experience conducting system audits and preferably hold a lead auditor qualification.
- Understanding of Engineering, Airworthiness and Flight Operations principles, practices and regulations.
- Advanced computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
