The Royal Flying Doctor Service is delighted to announce that Vivid Sydney, Australia's largest event, has selected the RFDS as its regional charity partner. The partnership represents a wonderful launchpad to promote the Flying Doctor's mission to a huge domestic and international audience.
In 2018 Vivid Sydney attracted more 2.25 million visitors. Of these, almost 33,000 extended to their visit to Sydney to spend time in regional NSW.
As part of its involvement with the Vivid festival, the Flying Doctor will interact and engage with Vivid Sydney visitors, as well as offering RFDS merchandise along the three-kilometre footprint of the Vivid Light Walk. The Flying Doctor will also host an event to thank allies and supporters at the prestigious Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA).
Destination NSW Chief Executive Sandra Chipchase welcomed the partnership as an important platform to not only promote the vital work of the Flying Doctor, but support the development of regional and remote communities.
"The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDS SES) is vital not only to those who live and work in rural and remote Australia including our valued tourism providers, but also supporting the record numbers of tourists we are attracting to regional NSW."
The 2019 Vivid Sydney festival begins on the 24th of May and will continue until the 15th of June.
