Miss Vivienne Windsor began donating to the Flying Doctor in 2011 and is a John Flynn Legion bequestor. This means she has planned to leave a gift to the RFDS SE Section in her Will. Miss Windsor did her nursing training at Sydney Hospital and nursed for 40 years in public hospitals.
“I donate because of the wonderful work that the Flying Doctor does and the lives that are saved,” says Miss Windsor. “I know the team spirit involved in nursing and it makes me appreciate and admire the demands of vital healthcare services. I can imagine the team spirit being ‘on board’ at all times for Flying Doctor patients.”
Miss Windsor has also seen the Flying Doctor bases at Broken Hill and Alice Springs during bus tours to the Outback.
“Many years ago, one of the passengers on a tour had to be airlifted by the Flying Doctor,” says Miss Windsor. “When you think about it, where would people out there be without the Flying Doctor?”
