Sophie Hamley, a book publisher and author based in Sydney, is a regular donor who signed up in September 2023.
“Despite living in Sydney all my life, I recognise how vital your services are to families in rural, regional and remote Australia,” she said.
Having travelled extensively through remote parts of New South Wales and Queensland, as well as visiting the Northern Territory, Sophie has seen firsthand the challenges families face when it comes to accessing medical care in the bush. She wants to ensure that all Australians, no matter where they live, can access essential healthcare.
“I admire the Flight Doctors and Nurses who travel to remote communities, often in challenging conditions, to provide critical care to families who would otherwise have no help at all,” said Sophie.
Living in the city, Sophie feels she may never need the Flying Doctor, but she wants to support families who provide for the rest of our country, like farming families and primary producers.
We are so grateful to Sophie and to all our other regular supporters who believe everyone, no matter where they live should have access to quality healthcare.
