This year we are launching a new community event, ‘The Outback Morning Tea’ to raise vital funds to bring healthcare to those living in rural, regional, and remote Australia. You can join with your friends and family and hold a morning tea to support the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Now we need your help to continue bringing the finest care to the furthest corners of the outback. At the Royal Flying Doctor Service, we’re committed to saving lives and with a new year ahead of us comes a new opportunity for you to support our life-saving work.

“We are excited to bring back our community fundraising activities and reconnect with many of our wonderful volunteers. Our first event will be Outback Morning Tea in March,” Community Fundraising Senior Coordinator Steve Yerbury said.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to host a get-together with your nearest and dearest to raise vital funds for the Flying Doctor. Over delicious baked goods and a freshly brewed pot of tea, your Outback Morning Tea can ensure the support, care and safety of all Australians, no matter where they live,” Steve said.

Flying Doctor supporter and President of the Dubbo Support Group Cecelia Hutchinson-Parsons is pleased to be hosting an Outback Morning Tea with members from her local community.

“What a great way to raise vital funds for RFDS’ life-saving services and ensure the Flying Doctor crew will always be there for Australians in times of need,” Cecelia said.

“It’s so simple to do, just register online and the Flying Doctor sends everything we need to know to make our event a success,” she said.

The morning tea is an ode to all things Australian, celebrating the much-loved pastime of having a cuppa with your mates. We particularly encourage you to whip up a family-favourite, a healthy snack or an old-school Aussie treat.

By doing so, you’re fundraising for the Flying Doctor and supporting the many services it provides to Aussies in the bush, including health services like dental, eye care, wellbeing, and telehealth.
