Your support paves the way for children to experience the benefits of play therapy.
Lesley Harvey is our Play Therapist in the Mental Health team and uses play as a form of therapy for children. The stand at this year’s Agfair in Broken Hill offered children a safe space to interact with Flight Nurses and Doctors making them feel comfortable within a variety of medical environments.
The children used their teddies to engage in conversations and scenarios with needles or other treatments in a fun and playful manner.
The event was a delightful blend of education and play, allowing families to connect with staff and learn more about the essential services provided by the Flying Doctor first-hand.
Because of your support, Lesley can travel hundreds of kilometres every week to meet with children who need mental health support.
Thanks to you, more children who live in the bush have access to critical mental health support through innovative play therapy, providing them with the help they need to live a happy life.
