This year’s annual gala event was a fun-filled night of entertainment. With record breaking attendees and funds raised, this year was our most successful gala ever. The money raised on the night is used to keep the Flying Doctor flying.
Our theme ‘A Night Under the Stars’, made sure this year’s event was a show stopping event. On the night, we celebrated our wonderful doctors, staff, and supporters for our 90th anniversary of the Flying Doctor. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we continue to provide our wide range of health services to an area of over 7.69 million square kilometres. Our gala is always one of the highlights of our calendar and is a fun and exciting way in which we bring our donors, supporters and staff together for a night of entertainment, music, food and fun.
The night’s entertainment included plenty of classic Aussie hits, to highlight our Australian theme all food was sourced from our birthplace of Queensland. Headliners included John Schumann and Shane Howard who helped our guests dance the night away. In addition to the food, drinks, and entertainment, guests also had the opportunity to participate in various fundraising activities to help us reach our fundraising goals.
The silent auction was a big drawcard, with prizes including a Vuly Trampoline up for grabs. With raffles and auction items galore, the opportunity to win a trip to Finland to see the northern lights was a highly coveted prize.
Our team of dedicated staff would not be able to offer the innovative and integral service to the people of Australia without our generous supporters. Our night would have not have been as successful without the support from our many generous donors such as Vuly, Qantas and Rydges.
With this year’s event done and dusted, plans for our 2019 event are already underway. This year Vuly kindly donated two trampolines, which means that if you missed out on the trampoline this year, we will have another incredible trampoline available for our 2019 gala event.
