The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) is proud to become an official Charity Partner with Brisbane Broncos this season in a bid to raise vital funds for the Service.
The 2025 Brisbane Broncos Charity Partner Program, sponsored by loans.com.au, supports 12 local charities all with the same mission: to fundraise for their cause through the popular 50-50 Charity Raffle.
As a Charity Partner, fans can support the RFDS (Queensland Section) by purchasing a raffle ticket online soon or at the Broncos’ home game against the Bulldogs on Thursday 24 April.
Every ticket sold will ensure the RFDS (Queensland Section) can continue to provide vital aeromedical retrievals, inter-facility transfers, primary health care clinics, mental health consultations, telehealth and oral health services across Queensland.
RFDS (Queensland Section) Executive General Manager Commercial and Corporate Affairs Carole Tokody said the partnership with the Broncos was a natural fit for two Queensland icons.
“It is community-centred partnerships like this that keep the Flying Doctor flying,” Carole said.
“Like the Broncos, the RFDS has a shared connection and dedication to the people of Queensland.
“This unique partnership reflects our shared commitment to make a lasting difference in the health and wellbeing of regional, rural and remote communities, as well as those in metropolitan areas.
“Together we can inspire Queenslanders on and off the field, bringing life-saving healthcare and community pride to the furthest corners of our state.
“Through the combined efforts of the RFDS and the Broncos, we will work to improve access to critical services, through sport, health education and healthcare.”
Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy addressed all 12 charities, welcoming them to the Broncos family and outlining the club’s entrenched commitment to giving back to the community.
“I find it really apt that we get to come into this building, the Clive Berghofer Centre each and every day, and be reminded of Clive’s unwavering support of Queensland community groups that has amassed more than $130 million to date,” Dave said.
“It’s that sort of passion and inspiration that continues to drive us at the Brisbane Broncos, and I hope one day we’re talking about having given those amounts of money back into the community.
"We are really proud of this Program and know the difference it makes to the lives of so many Queenslanders in need."
NRL Head Coach Michael Maguire said he was in awe of the work the RFDS (Queensland Section) does day in, day out.
“I’m a big believer that what we do off the field and away from footy, is just as important, if not more, than what we do on the paddock," Michael said.
“There are people going through more in life than we could ever imagine, and that’s something that I have always instilled in my players – to think about something bigger than themselves.
“I’m really looking forward to working with our Charity Partners and making them feel very much a part of everything we do.”
After raising a record $900,000 in 2024 through the well-established 50-50 raffles on Broncos gamedays, the club is aiming to raise over $1 million this season.
