The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) and Elders have launched the Outback Explorer Campaign to celebrate Queensland communities and those who live in them.
The campaign will run for six weeks, from 8 October to 19 November, and will invite people to create, share and submit a short video on YouTube, Instagram or TikTok that captures what they love about the state for the chance to receive $10,000 (courtesy of Elders).
The best video will be chosen by a panel of judges, and three runners-up who receive the most votes will each receive a $1,000 travel voucher.
RFDS (Queensland Section) Executive General Manager Commercial and Corporate Affairs Carole Tokody said the Flying Doctor’s partnership with Elders allows both organisations to strengthen their connection with the communities they serve and celebrate the people who live and work in regional Queensland.
“We know how integral Elders is to regional Queensland and RFDS shares its passion for supporting those who live in regional, rural and remote communities,” Carole said.
“There’s a great opportunity for those who choose the incredible lifestyle regional Queensland has to offer, and we’re pleased to be able to showcase these rich and diverse opportunities through the Outback Explorer Campaign.”
Elders State General Manager for Queensland and Northern Territory Lisa Hewitt said this initiative underpins Elders’ commitment to rural Queensland.
“It is wonderful to be able to bring together two organisations that share mutual connections into regional Queensland, through an initiative that is all about celebrating the uniqueness of the Queensland way of life,” Lisa said.
“We are so proud to be partnering with the RFDS through this campaign, which we hope will lift the presence and profile of rural and regional people and shine a light on how important these people are."
The RFDS and Elders have shared a long history of helping Queenslanders live, work and travel remotely and this initiative aims to inspire future generations to create full and meaningful lives in the bush.
