CQUniversity has joined forces with Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) signing an agreement that will see collaboration and research development and placement opportunities for students.
“The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) and CQUniversity have similar values and this partnership couldn’t be a better fit,” CQUniversity Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman said.
“The RFDS is a wonderful non-profit organisation that provides emergency and primary health care services to people living in regional, rural and remote areas who have limited access a hospital. Similarly, CQUniversity is Australia’s largest regional university that has been proudly providing higher education to students who live in similar regional and remote locations that the RFDS services and whom otherwise would not have access to higher education,” Professor Bowman said.
“Not only will this agreement give our students a fabulous opportunity to undertake placements with the RFDS (Queensland Section), it will also give CQUniversity and RFDS (Queensland Section) staff the chance to collaborate on, and develop research, that will be aimed at enhancing the service delivery of the RFDS and improving patient outcomes.”
RFDS (Queensland Section) CEO, Nino Di Marco said partnering with CQUniversity will further strengthen the Flying Doctor’s mission to connect and build health care accessibility in regional and rural communities throughout Queensland with world class professionals.
“The RFDS is committed to championing sustainable healthcare opportunities in regional Queensland and we are looking forward to collaborating with CQUniversity and their students,” Mr Di Marco said.
