At RFDS SA/NT, with a fleet of state-of-the-art aircraft and a team of highly skilled aviation and engineering professionals, we ensure the safe and efficient delivery of critical healthcare services to remote and isolated communities across South Australia and the Northern Territory. Whilst our aviation team work tirelessly transporting patients in need of medical care, our engineering team maintain and oversee the upkeep of our aircraft, ensuring they are in optimal condition to undertake lifesaving missions at a moment's notice.
Pilots
Our Pilots work at the forefront of aeromedical aviation and technology, commanding our state-of-the-art fleet of Pilatus PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft.
Working from one of four Operational Bases (Darwin, Alice Springs, Port Augusta and Adelaide), our Pilots navigate more than 400 diverse landing locations across South Australia and the Northern Territory.
You’ll be flying to and from some of the remotest airstrips in the nation to major city centres – and everything in between.
As an integral member of a multi-disciplined crew, your work will directly connect Australians to regular primary health care as well as critical emergency response.

Engineers
Our Engineers quite literally ‘keep the Flying Doctor flying’ 24/7 for the benefit of rural and remote Australians.
Come and work with a dedicated team that prides itself on optimal safety and performance.
You’ll have the opportunity to work in-house on a modern and meticulously maintained fleet of PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft.
We offer a wide range of opportunities in Mechanical and Avionics Engineering, Production Management, Logistics, Technical Services, Maintenance Control and Aircraft Airworthiness.
The RFDS is also proud to support a growing Apprenticeship Program, providing an unrivalled training ground for the next generation of RFDS Engineers.
