With the support of the West Coast Council there will be four days of free, fun and informative activities designed to boost health and welbeing. Come along and meet the teams who are working hard to look after people in rural and remote communities.
MENTAL HEALTH WEEK PROGRAM
Oct 11 - Official launch of Mental Health Week on the West Coast: Strahan Primary School 3-5pm: Afternoon tea courtesy CWA, Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) mental health bus and mobile dental van open for inspection.
Oct 12 – RFDS mental health bus and mobile dental truck at Strahan Primary School 9am-11.30am: RFDS Rhythm2Recovery drumming, smoothie bike and healthy morning tea.
Oct 12 – Mentors in Violence Prevention at Tullah Lakeside Chalet, 10am-2.30pm, hosted by the Women’s Legal Service and Engender Equality
Oct 12 – RFDS mental health bus at Zeehan Primary School 12.30pm-3pm: RFDS Rhythm2Recovery drumming, smoothie bike and healthy afternoon tea
Oct12 – Trivia night at Zeehan RSL from 5.30pm, $5 entry, hosted by West Coast Suicide Prevention Network: Lions Club BBQ, RFDS mental health bus, smoothie bike
Oct 13 – Brain Bazarre at Queenstown Community Services Hub 10.30am-4.30pm: Heaps of fun activities, games, arts and crafts, music and food. UTAS Children's University Health Literacy activities, pottery, Queenstown Choir, Fortune Telling with Mission Australia, sensory activities with Anglicare, RFDS smoothie bike and mental health bus on site, food provided by Queenstown Child and Family Centre, Tas Fire Service snakes and ladders games.
Oct 14 – 10.30am-4.30am Response suicide intervention training at Rosebery Neighbourhood House. "What do I say, What do I do?" Hosted by STANDBY Response and Rosebery Neighbourhood House. Children's activities with UTAS. RFDS Health Hub bus, smoothie bike, lunch in the park.
