On Wednesday 26 April, The Royal Flying Doctor Service was announced as Australia’s ‘Most Trusted Charity’ by the Australian Reader's Digest in their Trusted Brands’ survey of 2023.
This is the third consecutive time RFDS has been award this title, sitting alongside the accolade of Australia’s Most Reputable Charity for 11 of the last 12 years. This is testament to the strong relationships we have built with our patients and supporters across the entire country.
“A patient’s trust in their medical services is vital – particularly if they are living in locations that don’t have the same access to the services enjoyed in our cities,” says Frank Quinlan, RFDS Federation Executive Director.
“That we have earned this trust, in the provision of vital, emergency medical and primary health care services to rural and remote Australia, gives our 2500 staff great pride.”
RFDS is part of Australia’s broad national health system, and works closely with governments, industry, Aboriginal Medical Services, Primary Health Networks, Local Hospital Districts, GPs and rural and remote communities to keep Aussies healthy and safe.
This accolade is also a reflection of the ongoing efforts of frontline staff, volunteers, local health care partners, fundraisers and donors, and many more who continue to support The Flying Doctor. To everyone who continues to support The Flying Doctor – we say thank you.
Together we provide better access to health and wellbeing in the bush.
