At RFDS Victoria, our greatest asset is our people. We put people first in everything we do, developing strategies and frameworks to enable individuals to grow, succeed and contribute positively to better health and wellbeing outcomes for the communities we serve. This includes creating a fair and equitable working environment for all who choose to work for RFDS Victoria.
The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Gender Pay Gap report provides us with insights and clarity in relation to how we are tracking in all aspects of gender equality and equity – and how we promote and improve it – in our workforce. The information we gather is also essential to understanding our people and how we can strive to be an even better organisation. This year's data shows that RFDS Victoria’s gender pay gap for remuneration remains slightly favourable toward women. We are proud that we remain well above industry standard and are confident that we will continue to make positive strides towards achieving a fair and equitable workforce for all.
The WGEA report has informed our decision making and supported the development of our new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Roadmap in 2024. In 2023 we strengthened policies and procedures relating to parental leave entitlements, return to work, appropriate workplace behaviour and sexual harassment. These improvements provide the foundations that will enable us to continue to build a strong, gender-equal workforce.
This work fits under our broader Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program that will encourage and support a workforce that better represents the people and communities that rely on our services.
