Did you know that remote Australians are twice as likely to die by suicide compared to city people, yet only access mental health services at a fifth of the rate?
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Victoria’s Wellbeing program is working to address that. The program, titled ‘Flying Doctor Wellbeing’, is a key part of our commitment to bringing high quality health care to people in the bush. It provides vital mental health support specifically for people in rural and remote Victoria, with counselling services available in person (or via telehealth) at no cost. Clients can access sessions with a mental health clinician without needing to leave their local community, with appointments available face-to-face or via telehealth.
As a largely donor-funded organisation, supporters are pivotal to our success.
