In the October edition of Going the Distance, we meet some inspiring members of the Flying Doctor family.
Dr Vivienne Whitechurch, from the Rural Women’s GP Service, tells us about the importance of putting your health first and what the service has done for the female residents of Charlton, Yarram and surrounding areas; Flight Nurse Peter has coordinated hundreds of lifesaving missions during his sixteen years with RFDS; and Mavis, a client of our Community Transport Service, couldn’t be happier about the Flying Doctor sharing her daughter Brittany’s 100km commute into Bendigo for important medical appointments.
And all of these stories are made possible by you.

Today, your support can:
- Help our flight nurses access lifesaving medical equipment and supplies when they’re flying missions
- Help keep our Community Transport Service running for people living with a disability and who can’t access health care
- Ensure the continuation of essential health care services for residents in rural and regional communities
Thank you for your generosity. Together, we’re bringing vital health care services to people right across Australia.
