The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Western Australia (RFDS) sincerely thanks Topdrill and the more than 500 attendees at this year’s Resources Industry Charity Sundowner for raising over $380,000 for two crucial Goldfields charities on the eve of the 2024 Diggers & Dealers Mining Forum.

Held at Topdrill’s Kalgoorlie headquarters, the 2024 sundowner marks the fifth year of this event, bringing the total funds raised to more than $1,002,000.

The event featured live music, gourmet canapés and an exciting high-roller auction with prizes including a 2024 AFL Grand Final package, a diamond and pearl necklace, vintage wine, a Kimberley Quest tour, and a seven-night Thailand getaway for two.

RFDS WA CEO Judith Barker thanked the Goldfields community for its support of the RFDS at this annual event.

“Each year, the Topdrill team amazes us by making the event bigger and better. The generosity of people on the night also never ceases to amaze me,” said Ms. Barker.

Our sincere thanks to the Topdrill team and all their guests for digging deep and supporting the care the RFDS provides in the Goldfields region.

Donations from the evening will support the RFDS’s vital aeromedical services in the Goldfields, where in 2023 alone, 1,474 patients were transferred from the region – an average of four patients per day.

The funds raised will also support Full Circle Therapies, a local paediatric allied health organisation.

The event's success is a testament to the generosity of the Goldfields community and resources sector and showcases the incredible support for the services the RFDS provides in the region.
