The Royal Flying Doctor Service (WA) is pleased to announce Northern Star Resources Limited have jumped on board as our newest major partner to establish a new GP and allied health services facility at our base in Kalgoorlie.
Our partnership will see Northern Star Resources Limited provide $800,000 in funding to establish a new GP and allied health services facility at our base in Kalgoorlie.
The facility will deliver much-needed additional GP, Nurse and Allied Health clinics for people in the Goldfields, regional healthcare training for university students (medical, nursing and allied health) and strengthen healthcare capability in the Goldfields.
It will be achieved through collaboration with Curtin University, the WA Country Health Service and the Australian Government.
In the last year, RFDS Kalgoorlie crews travelled 1,250,000 kms to reach 1,714 patients across the Goldfields region. Of those patients, 173 patients were aged 15 years and younger and 25 were infants.
The RFDS provides key services to the Goldfields-Esperance region including primary evacuations, inter-hospital transfers including COVID-19 transfers and a range of primary health care services, ensuring people who live far from medical care have access to essential services.
We can’t wait to see this facility up and running and the impact it will have in the Goldfields!
