To Amy... the RFDS is a security blanket.
At 23, Amy Kynoch is living her dream, working as a station hand in outback NT.
Life at the remote Lucy Creek Station, 400km north-east of Alice Springs, contains everything she loves, from the people and lifestyle to working with animals – she embraces the challenge of managing cattle and their perky, unpredictable nature.
During mustering season last year, Amy started her morning like any other, not imagining by day's end she'd be in the back of an RFDS aircraft bound for hospital.
But this became a reality when she copped a kick from a flying hoof, leaving her with a split and bloodied face.
