Bay to Birdwood
We were paid a special visit by Bay to Birdwood’s Michael Neale and a beautiful 1949 Bentley as he handed over a generous donation from their 2022 event.
First held in 1980, SA's Bay to Birdwood is one of the world’s great historic motoring events that currently supports the RFDS as its charity partner.
The Flying Doctor thanks everyone far and wide involved and all the participants for their generous contributions.
Calling all frequent pie-ers!
When you buy any Vili’s product at your local IGA store between 15 February - 14 March 2023, Vili’s will donate 10 cents per item to the RFDS to help keep the Flying Doctor flying. Metcash, IGA's parent company, will also match the amount raised dollar for dollar.
Balnaves are back
After raising more than $15,000 through tasting fees for the Flying Doctor last year, the Balnaves of Coonawarra is back again raising funds for the RFDS.
Every quarter, the winery generously choose a different charity to donate its cellar door tasting fees towards – with the RFDS again selected as a beneficiary.
With many family, friends and staff having being airlifted, Kirsty Balnaves said the RFDS is a service very close to their hearts.
“We originally decided to raise money for the RFDS because my mother had been airlifted. Then my daughter, who had only just turned 20, was airlifted in mid-January 2022,” Kirsty said.
"For us living in the country and in a rural area it’s such a great service and now I’ve seen first-hand the difference it makes.
“We charge five dollars a head (for tastings) and some people pay more when they find out where the money is going.”
If you’re after a summer drop, check out their beautiful cellar door at 15517 Riddoch Hwy, Coonawarra SA and support the RFDS.
