As a new mum, Alice Springs local Ratna Wilis was enjoying her new life with her son, Muhammad.
After Muhammad was prematurely born at 31 weeks, she noticed something wasn't quite right.
After receiving a diagnosis of hydrocephalus (a swelling of the brain ventricles, putting pressure on the brain), an RFDS PC-24 aeromedical jet with a specialist flight crew was tasked to safely transport Ratna and Muhammad to Adelaide for urgent surgery, to save him from lifelong complications,or potentially more devastating circumstances for the family.
