Volunteer with RFDS SA/NT
Become a volunteer and help keep the Flying Doctor flying.
At the RFDS, we are proud to have hundreds of volunteers who help generate much-needed funds to keep the Flying Doctor flying.
We count on volunteers to minimise administration costs and ensure that our vital fundraising dollars go directly towards our primary mission of providing medical care to those in need, when they need it most.
Every day your Flying Doctor airlifts 100 Australians, including coming to the rescue of 15 South Australians and 8 Territorians. The RFDS relies on bequests, sponsorships and donations to bridge the gap in its operational funding and to purchase its 'flying intensive care units' at a cost of more than $10 million each.
Plenty of opportunities
Based on your skills, experience and availability, there are many ways to help support the RFDS in fulfilling and impactful volunteer roles. We're always grateful for whatever assistance our volunteers can provide.
You can get involved by:
- Joining an RFDS support group - we have 25 support groups located across South Australia and the Northern Territory.
- Helping out at RFDS events
- Driving our RFDS simulator to events and interacting with the public about the RFDS
- Joining our guest speaker program.
